African Twist season 1 is a go and Hellene Alabi-Williams is back in the director's chair for the drama/comedy series. Much like her previous work in the movie Stay (Amazon Prime) Hellene will be starring in the show as well. Her husband and business partner Neils (Antonio) Williams is the co-writer as well as a guest star on the series.

Synopsis

Sade (Alabi-Williams ) is an undocumented Nigerian. She's within minutes of getting picked up by I.C.E but escapes into hiding only to find herself as an accidental new hire at an African hair braiding salon. She navigates the sister-hood in this new group of first and second generation immigrants; each one silently managing their own secrets including; domestic violence, prostitution, single motherhood and more

Joining the cast will be Iretiola Doyle (Fifty, Merry Men, The Wedding Party), Wendell Kinney (Burn Notice, Days of Our Lives), Mercedes Stanley (Stay) Sagirah Young (Stay) Acamea Deadwiler, Jospeh Taylor, Zion Lambert

Production is expected to wrap in August in plans for release in 2022 as they shop around for distribution.
